The latest acquisition by Sterling Heights-based Big Net Holdings Inc. will push it from wireless phone service and the Internet into wire-based, traditional long-distance and local phone service.
"As a competitor, I guess I'm pleased to see it, only because I think it will be distracting and help IOC" Added JOEL MALOFF, Chief Operating Officer of INTERNET OPERATIONS CENTER, INC. in Ann Arbor.
Big Net will acquire Pontiac-based U.S. MidTel
Corp. and Farmington Hills-based Mich.com Inc. for
Big Net stock valued at about $30 million.
U.S. MidTel was founded in January 1996 and is in the process of entering the local telephone business in competition with Ameritech-Michigan. It has a telephone switch in downtown Pontiac capable of handling 200,000 local phone lines It's owned by entrep
eneurs Lorn Olsen, John Boyle and John Lodden. Mich.com, owned Boyle and Olsen, is a
Farmington Hills Internet service provider with dial-up Internet access customers.
Big Net Chairman and CEO Duane Rao said MidTel?s
local telephone switch will cut Big Net?s costs to
provide high-speed Internet data service over phone lines. Boyle said MidTel is set to begin offering local phone service in 60 to 90 days.
Competitors were skeptical."Managing an organization that focuses on Internet-based activities, in terms of development and hosting and connectivity, is a tall order, and to add
phone activity on that seems like it would be a
distraction," said Rick Weir, president of Online
Technologies Corp. in Ann Arbor. "As a competitor, I guess I?m pleased to see it, only because I think it will be distracting and help us."

"Open Door Policy" I love that. For those of you who don't remember, the "Open Door Policy" was the

tell you whatever you needed to hear to get you out of his office. Hell, I'm still waiting on a response to a
memo I sent him, at his request, after one of those sessions. Ah, the memories!!!
As for Mr. Marzak, I think you should all leave him alone. He has a big help to me at IOC and since

Good advice - 04/07/99 20:26:40
Too many managers, finding their companies behind on cost, quality, cycle time, customer service, and other competitive metrics, have tried to put everything right at the same time and then wondered why progress was so painfully slow. No single business,
unctional team, or department can give adequate attention to all these goals at once. Without focused attention on a few key operating goals at any one time, improvement efforts are likely to be so diluted that the company ends up as a perpetual laggard i
every critical performance area.

I have found that leaving IOC wasn't enough for me. I still feel like there getting off easy for all the lies and backstabbing. Any ideas on how I can purge this hatred from my once pure heart???

Well, well, well the BIG FUCKING RAT has finally left the sinking ship of IOC. And you can bet that the mother of all BIG FUCKING RATS Micheal
"NaziRat" Marquart WILL FOLLOW SHORTLY and blame it all on all of us who were forced to walk the very short and narrow plank by the sharp point
of captain Marzak's sword. At lest we/us humans know how to swim in these choppy and treacherous waters... Rats usually drown within minutes :)
